Itinerary

DAY 1 Departure: A morning departure, stopping en route in Welwyn Garden City, with included entry toWelwyn Roman Baths.

Welwyn Garden City and Roman Baths: Discover fascinating remains and learn about the Romans Culture and influence on the local area. From the baths we make the short journey to Welwyn Garden City with time for lunch and sightseeing. Founded by Sir Ebenezer Howard in the 1920s today the city enjoys a world-wide reputation as one of the finest examples of modern town planning.

DAY 2 Kew Gardens: A World Heritage Site, the Royal Botanic Gardens are home to the world’s largest and most diverse collection of living plants, with over 40,000 different species of plants which works out to over 1 in 8 of known plant species. It owes much of its success to the succession of avid collectors, visionary scientist, inspired landscape architects and redoubtable gardeners, and the collections they maintain. Explore stunning landscaped grounds and over 40 listed iconic buildings, and impressive glasshouses including the Palm House, Temperate House, Princess of Wales Conservatory and the Xstrata Treetop Walkway.With so much for you to discover you’re sure to have an exciting and unforgettable day.

LAST DAY Travel home via Crews Hill: We depart for home, stopping en route in Crews Hill. This charming village in Enfield has one of the largest concentrations of specialist garden centres, nurseries and aquatics centres in the UK. Here you can find everything your home and gardening needs, enjoy time at leisure to bask in the horticultural atmosphere and explore the many stores and cafes before we continue home, arriving in the evening.
