New Forest: We journey through the picturesque New Forest with breaks in Lyndhurst and Burley. The village of Lyndhurst has been the "Capital" of the New Forest area since William the Conqueror established the area as a royal hunting ground in 1079, and has been visited by Kings and Queens throughout the centuries. This afternoon we continue to Burley one of the prettiest New Forest villages which is home to the New Forest Cider Farm.
Isle of Purbeck and Poole: We begin our day by travelling towards Poole Harbour where we make a crossing on the Sandbanks Ferry. Our first stop is in Swange the first town at the eastern end of the world famous Jurassic Coast on the Isle Of Purbeck, a 60 square mile peninsula. You will be treated to breathtaking views across the Channel and the most beautiful white cliffs to rival those around Dover. Located at the centre of this peninsula is the 1000 year old majestic ruin of Corfe Castle which makes for a fantastic picture stop. Our excursion continues as we drive across the patchwork country side to the bustling quayside town of Poole. You will have free time to Indulge yourself in the world of arts and crafts by visiting Poole Pottery and the Illustrated World of Eileen Soper the reclusive artist who brought to life the Famous Five and many other books for Enid Blyton.
