Description
Cornwall’s stunning landscape of rugged coastline, mighty cliffs and majestic hills boast 12 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Itinerary
DAY 1 Departure: A morning departure stopping for lunch and refreshments en route to our resort hotel.

DAYS 2-4 At leisure with two included excursions: Cornwall has so much more to offer than just sun, sea and sand. The breathtaking landscape boasts World Heritage Site status and 12 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by the powerful seas of the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel, Cornwall is ideally located with two stunning coastlines famous for surfing and a huge breadth of golden beaches. Nestled throughout the majestic countryside are historic towns and unspoilt villages alive with memories and stories of a colourful history. Relics of Cornwall’s modern and historic past can be found virtually everywhere, none more so than Wheal Bassett and Geevor Tin Mine, the largest preserved mining site in the UK. Traditional values meet with modern cultures to preserve Cornwall’s thriving maritime scene from quaint fishing havens, historic ports and harbours to cutting edge water sports and sailing clubs. On land, the National Maritime Museum is one of many cultural delights on offer in the area which has been a natural home to inspiration, art and ideas since the early 19th century.

Padstow, Tintagel & Boscastle: We head to the picturesque fishing town of Padstow. Nestling on the beautiful Camel Estuary, the town with its colourful working harbour, surrounded by pastel washed medieval houses is an attraction in itself. We then continue to the pretty village of Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. Here an Iron Age castle and settlement preceded the 13th Century castle whose ruins can still be seen. On our return journey we visit Boscastle. This village is a conservation area amongst some of the most beautiful countryside within the British Isles, and is one of the few remaining unspoilt harbour villages in Cornwall. Designated an “area of outstanding beauty”, the National Trust own and care for the beautiful medieval harbour and surrounding coastline.

Looe, Polperro & Mevagissey: Spend the day touring the secluded bays and quaint villages of South East Cornwall. Explore the beautiful countryside from rugged shores to calm valleys, stunning views to ancient woodland and the associated wildlife that this area has to offer. We head for the beautiful coastal towns of Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey, small, unspoilt fishing villages with a colourful history of boat building and smuggling, which still retain their traditional character.

LAST DAY Travel home: We depart home, stopping en route for lunch, arriving home during the evening.
