Itinerary
Day 1 Departure
A morning departure to Dover and our ferry crossing to Calais. We then continue through France to our chosen overnight hotel.
Day 2 Travel to Riva del Garda
After breakfast we continue through the French countryside, through the Austrian Tyrol and Brenner Pass into Italy to Riva del Garda and our resort hotel.
Days 3-7 At leisure
At leisure in the lakeside resort of Riva del Garda with two included excursions and two optional excursions.
Riva del Garda is an ideal spot for a relaxing break – strolling along the waterside promenades or cruising away to see some of the charming villages dotted around the lake.
Included Excursion
Full Day Venice A full day included excursion to Venice, the ancient and famous city of canals, St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and much, much more. From the coach park we make our way into Venice by private boat. To round off a truly memorable day, your courier will offer a guided tour of Venice and a gondola ride. (Please Note: This excursion is not suitable for wheelchair and mobility vehicle users).
Included Excursion
Full Day Verona (with optional city tour) A full day included excursion to the magnificent old city of Verona, famous for Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” play. We also offer an optional guided city tour of Verona.
Optional Excursion
Half Day Tour of Riva del Garda An optional half day lake cruise touring Riva del Garda and visiting Limone and Malcesine, with free time for lunch and shopping. The rest of this day is free to explore Old Riva.
Optional Excursion
Full Day Bardolino & Sirmione A full day optional excursion through towns and villages set on the eastern shoreline of Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy. Visiting Bardolino with its relaxing lakeside atmosphere and charming town centre. The town also lends its name to the famous wine that is produced in the surrounding vineyards. We continue to the southern end of the lake to visit Sirmione, with free time to explore this beautiful old citadel.
Day 8 Travel to overnight hotel
We return through Alpine Switzerland via the Gotthard Tunnel, to Basel to our overnight hotel in France.
Last Day Travel home
We depart for Calais and our ferry crossing to Dover, arriving home during the evening.

Hotel Garda/ The Savoy Palace Riva del Garda
We stay for 6 nights at the Hotel Garda or The Savoy Palace. Both hotels have an excellent location and facilities include bar, restaurant & swimming pool. All bedrooms are en suite with air conditioning, hairdryer, TV & telephone.
