Itinerary
Day 1 Departure
A morning departure to Dover and our ferry crossing to Calais. We then continue southwards to our chosen overnight hotel.
Day 2 Travel to Lermoos
Departure after an early breakfast. Leaving France behind us we cross the Rhine River, travelling into Germany and on to our Tyrolean destination, arriving at our hotel mid afternoon.
Days 3-7 At leisure
At leisure in Lermoos, a typical Tyrolean town on a plateau at the foot of the Zugspitze Mountain, with four included excursions and one optional excursion.
Included Excursion
Full Day Fairytale Castle of Neuschwanstein An excursion with entrance to King Ludwig’s Fairytale Castle of Neuschwanstein featured in the film ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!’ (Please Note: This is not suitable for those with walking difficulties). From here we visit the Weisskirche located near Steingaden. From here we pass through picturesque scenery and on to the world-famous Passion Play village of Oberammergau, here you can join an optional road train ride.

Full Day Innsbruck with optional city tour A sightseeing excursion along the Inn Valley to Innsbruck, the historic “Capital of the Tyrol”. There’s plenty of time for exploring – stroll along Maria Theresien Strasse with its bustling shops – see the Olympic ski jump high above the town – discover the old quarter with its charming arcaded streets and famous Golden Roof. Included Excursion
Full Day Scenic drive A scenic drive through one of the most beautiful valleys in the Tyrol to Obergurgl Parish and the Alpine resort of Solden. There you will have the opportunity to take an optional drive up the spectacular Glacier Strasse to the Solden Glacier set at some 10,000 feet.

Full Day Schloss Linderhof An included excursion with entrance to the beautiful castle and gardens of Schloss Linderhof. This luxurious Rococo residence in Louis XIV style is said to be where King Ludwig II spent most of his time.
Optional Excursion
Full Day Zugspitze An optional day’s sightseeing excursion to Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. We take the cable car to the summit on the Austrian side of the mountain, with free time at the top. We descend on the German side to Eibsee and then on to the cog railway train, taking us to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, before returning to the hotel by local train.
Day 8 Travel to overnight hotel
Optional Excursion
Afternoon Rhine river cruise Today as we head north and back into Germany, where our route passes Ulm and Stuttgart before brushing the edges of the Black Forest. We will take the scenic ride alongside the mighty River Rhine and you may like to take an optional Rhine Cruise along this famous stretch of water, passing castles and picturesque towns. We then continue to our chosen overnight hotel.
Last Day Travel homeWe depart for Calais and our ferry crossing to Dover, arriving home during the evening.
