Description

The title alone of this South of France tour conjures up thoughts of chic towns, ideal sandy beaches, the jet set and beautiful scenery. You will be based in Cannes, the centre of the Côte d’Azur.

Itinerary

Day 1 Departure
A morning departure to Dover and our ferry crossing to Calais. We travel southwards to our overnight hotel.

Today we head for Cannes, through France’s changing scenery to arrive at our hotel in the late afternoon.

Days 3-5 At leisure
At leisure in Cannes with two included excursions. What do you envisage at the mention of the city of Cannes? If crystal blue water, sparkling jewels, exotic clothing and movie stars come to mind then you have the right impression. However, glitz and glamour are not its only gifts. The famous street, Promenade de la Croisette, is bordered by contrasting beauty. One side reveals the elegance of Mother Nature in the narrow beaches and the enchanting blue sea, which is accentuated by the towering cliffs in the distance. Conversely, man’s hands created the beauty on the other side of the street. Breathtaking hotels, intimate restaurants and chic boutiques highlight the city’s famous style and charm. The beaches, outdoor activities, island tours and a wealth of attractions draw tourists throughout the year to this Mediterranean resort.

Full Day Monte Carlo & Monaco A full day included excursion to Monte Carlo. Two words which evoke a magical dream world. Discover the many facets of the Principality of Monaco. Monaco’s exceptional location, between mountain, sea and its gardens are all qualities which make it the ideal visit. An independent state in the heart of Europe, world famous for its casino, palace and sun.

New Full Day Nice & Eze A full day included excursion to visit the premier resort of the South of France, the wonderful city of Nice. We drive along the coastal road to Nice, today the 5th largest city in France, and in years gone by the favourite winter resort of the wealthy aristocrats and royals of Europe. Drive along the famous Promenade des Anglais admiring the Belle Epoque hotels and buildings, the stunning bay of Nice. We take a city tour of Nice in our coach, and then we visit on foot the quaint old town, with time for exploring and refreshments. We then make our way to Eze village travelling along the spectacular Móyenne Corniche road to visit the most important perfume laboratory in the South of France, where we will discover the secrets of the perfume industry.

Day 6 Travel to overnight hotel
We leave the Côte d’Azur and head northwards for our overnight hotel in central France.

Last Day Travel home
We depart for Calais and our ferry crossing to Dover, arriving home during the evening.

Venue Information

Hotel Embassy, Cannes
We stay for 4 nights at the Hotel Embassy in Cannes. Hotel facilities included a bar, restaurant, roof terrace with jacuzzi. All bedrooms are en suite with hairdryer and TV.
