Description

Birthplace of Charles de Gaulle, Lille has historic attractions and a fine modern centre for you to explore on this weekend break.

Itinerary

Day 1 Departure
A morning departure to Dover and our ferry crossing to Calais. We then continue to Lille to our hotel.

Days 2 (3 day holidays)

At leisure
At leisure in Lille with one included excursion (3 day hol), or two included excursions (4 day hol).

Included Excursion
Full Day Lille & optional city tour We transfer you into the city centre. You can join us on an optional guided city tour and the rest of the day is free at leisure for you to explore.

Included Excursion
Full Day (4 day holiday only) Local Market & Ypres An excursion firstly visiting the local market. Later we travel to Ypres, just across the Belgian border for lunch and sightseeing. Ypres has associations with the First World War, but after restoration it is now a pretty Flemish town with restaurants, shops and museums.

Last Day Travel home via Arras
We travel to Arras. Beneath the town hall is a network of tunnels used during WW1. We then depart for Calais and our ferry crossing to Dover, arriving home during the evening.

We stay at the Hotel Altia, a new hotel with contemporary décor. Facilities include a bar, restaurant and outdoor swimming pool. All bedrooms are en suite and have TV & a hairdryer.
