The most easterly of the Canadian Provinces, the Maritimes include Nova Scotia, with its Cape Breton Islands, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Often the choice of those on a return visit to Canada, the region has an untouched and untamed feel to it, which combines well with a display of some of the most tranquil and picturesque scenery on the eastern seaboard. Our Maritime tour offers the exploration of much outstanding natural beauty such as the famous Cabot Trail, with its unspoilt rugged coastline and rich background of dense evergreen forest, seemingly poised to tumble into the sea. We begin with Titan HiTours VIP Home Departure Service™® to London Heathrow Airport and your Air Canada flight direct to Halifax. On arrival we transfer to the Lord Nelson Hotel. Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is steeped in seafaring history and tradition. Its natural harbour is the second largest in the world and the town is a lively, growing one with an old and established community. The genuine warmth of the people combined with a cosmopolitan attitude makes for small town friendliness in a large harbour-side city.

DAY 2 HALIFAX
This morning’s orientation tour of Halifax will include the Halifax Citadel, an impressive fortification situated on a hill overlooking the city. Dating in parts to 1749, the Citadel was a British stronghold built to repel an American attack that never came. The remainder of the day is free to perhaps sample the excellent seafood on offer. Lobster and mussels are a local speciality and many fishmongers will be happy to arrange for shellfish to be shipped home to you, at very reasonable prices.

DAY 3 HALIFAX • CHESTER
Today we journey out to the rugged granite shoreline of Peggy’s Cove and the famous lighthouse, one of Canada’s most photographed attractions. We continue to Lunenburg, home of the Bluenose II, a replica of the famous original schooner and on to our hotel the Oak Island Resort & Spa, minutes from Chester and Mahone Bay.

DAY 4 CHESTER • YARMOUTH
Today we travel the Kejimkujik Scenic Drive from the rugged South Shore to the lush Annapolis Valley and Digby. After free time in this picturesque town, we continue to Yarmouth and the Rodd Grand, located in downtown Yarmouth.

DAY 5 YARMOUTH • SAINT JOHN
This morning there is a chance to visit Annapolis Royal. This historic harbourfront town served as the capital of British Nova Scotia until 1749 and is home to the Fort Anne Historical Site and the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens. We catch the ferry from Digby to Saint John, New Brunswick. This afternoon, there is an opportunity to make your first acquaintance with this attractive historical city. Our hotel tonight is the Delta Brunswick.

DAY 6 SAINT JOHN • FREDERICTON
We travel this morning to Kings Landing Historical Settlement, a meticulous restoration of New Brunswick Loyalist life in the 1800s. Covering three hundred acres, it includes eleven historic homes, two working farms, a church, a blacksmith’s shop, the one room schoolhouse, a working sawmill and the Kings Head Inn, all brought to life by costumed residents. After an opportunity for lunch we continue on to the capital of New Brunswick, Fredericton, which stretches along the banks of the Saint John River. Fredericton’s best known benefactor is Lord Beaverbrook who built a publishing empire based on the Daily Express. Our destination tonight is the Delta Fredericton Hotel.

DAY 7 FREDERICTON • CHARLOTTETOWN
Departing Fredericton this morning we travel east via the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island. Canada’s smallest province, known as the million acre farm, Prince Edward Island is a gentle almost quaint image of Southern Ireland. It is no coincidence then that many Celtic families moved here during the 18th and 19th Centuries bringing with them their language, music, folklore and, of course, the potato, all of which still flourish today. Our exploration of the island begins at Cavendish where we visit the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s maternal grandparents, where she lived and wrote the “Anne of Green Gables” stories. We transfer to Charlottetown, the province’s small and gracious capital city and our hotel for the next two nights, the Rodd Charlottetown.

DAY 8 PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
This morning we cross to the eastern side of this charming and attractive island, with its bright red soil and brilliant coloured clapboard houses, to Montague. Here we join a cruise along the Brundenell and Montague Rivers, through the mussel farms to visit a playful colony of harbour seals. Returning to Charlottetown this afternoon, we are free to discover this charming Victorian city with its compact and easily explored downtown area. The city’s Victoria Park is especially attractive with its views across the harbour.

DAY 9 CHARLOTTETOWN • BADDECK
We leave Prince Edward Island this morning, travelling via the Point Prim Lighthouse, one of 76 guarding this crinkled coastline, to meet the Wood Island ferry for New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. We continue our journey, crossing the Canso Causeway, the deepest in the world, and follow the Cabot Trail to one of Canada’s most scenic areas, Cape Breton Island and the delightful town of Baddeck. On arrival we have arranged for a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, which is located at the site of his summer house. Our hotel tonight is the Inverary Resort.

DAY 10 BADDECK • CHETICAMP
We continue our journey north along the stunning Cabot Trail, where mountain highlands tumble into the Atlantic Ocean, described by some to be Scotland’s missing west coast. Rounding the top of the island, we drive through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, a spectacular scenic route and wilderness area of parks, pristine waterways and broad sandy beaches. Our destination is the Acadian fishing village of Cheticamp, staying overnight at Laurie’s Motor Inn, where we have included a whale-watching cruise.

DAY 11 CHETICAMP • LISCOMB
We depart Cape Breton Island this morning for Liscomb, and following the Ceilidh Trail through Inverness and Craigmore, we cross the Canso Causeway to Nova Scotia and Sherbrooke. It is here that we have arranged for an included visit to Sherbrooke’s Historic Village where you step back in time and experience the sights and sounds of a 100 year old shipbuilding and lumbering community. From here we continue to Liscomb Mills and our hotel, the Liscombe Lodge.

DAY 12 LISCOMB • HALIFAX • LONDON
We leave Liscomb this morning, and driving along the eastern shore, we return to Halifax. On arrival in Halifax there will be time for last minute shopping before the transfer to Halifax International Airport and our return Air Canada flight direct to the UK.

DAY 13 LONDON
