Description
Toronto • Niagara Falls • Ottawa • Mont Tremblant • Sainte Adele • St. Donat De Montcalm • Quebec City • Charlevoix Coastline • Whale Cruise • Eastern Townships • Montreal

This tour includes 1 breakfast and 1 lunch
Symbol of Canada, the maple is seen in luxuriant profusion on this tour as we explore terrain that often exceeds New England for colour and, in its poetic natural beauty, is incomparable with anywhere else in the world. Here we encounter the vast wooded Laurentian mountain range and the communities that delight in this magnificent backdrop. We drive along the unspoiled Charlevoix Coast to make contact with nature’s largest mammal, the whale, on our included lunch cruise. We are at leisure to experience the charms of old Quebec City, sophisticated Toronto and dramatic Niagara Falls. Finally we immerse ourselves in the rustic tranquillity of the Eastern Townships, the valleys and the commanding heights of the Appalachians, a largely undiscovered paradise on earth. In spring or fall, this tour is a feast of scenic delight.

Itinerary
DAY 1 LONDON • TORONTO
We begin with Titan HiTours Home Departure Service to London Heathrow Airport and your scheduled Air Canada flight direct to Toronto where our coach will transfer you to the Metropolitan Hotel. Be sure to stroll out onto Yonge Street and explore vibrant Toronto with its sophisticated architecture, elegant shopping malls and plentiful choice of dining. A visit to the CN Tower is a must, with the world’s highest observation deck some 1,700ft high! Thirty three floors lower is a revolving restaurant, bar and viewing deck with incredible views of the city by day or night, where you can walk on a section of glass floor and see the ground disappear beneath your feet.

DAY 2 TORONTO • NIAGARA FALLS
Our coach takes us to Niagara in time for lunch and the great experience of the Horseshoe and the American Falls. You can appreciate their awesome power by viewing from the promenade or from specially channelled tunnels behind the falls, or take an optional ride on the ‘Maid of the Mist’ boat that will take you almost under them. You will also have the chance to take an optional helicopter flight over the falls. Early evening we return to Toronto and our hotel. Please note that operation of the ‘Maid of the Mist’ is dependent on favourable weather conditions at the start of the season.

DAY 3 TORONTO • OTTAWA
We depart Toronto and follow the St Lawrence River to Kingston, gateway to the Thousand Islands. Here we take time for a coffee stop and to enjoy the views of the River before continuing on our journey to the nation’s capital, Ottawa. Ottawa’s fine parliament buildings, picturesque parks and canals invite the stroller. After a brief orientation tour we transfer to our hotel, the Crowne Plaza Ottawa and the remainder of the day is free for you to explore this fine city at your leisure.

DAY 4 OTTAWA • SAINTE ADELE
This morning we set out for the Laurentian Mountains and make our way north into Quebec and Mont Tremblant. Here we have time to relax and enjoy the wonderful mountain views from the village, or why not take the gondola to the summit for views of the lush green valleys and lakes below. The alpine village of Mont Tremblant, at the base of the mountain, is vibrant at any time of year, with European style streets and a multitude of exclusive boutiques, restaurants and amenities. Later this afternoon we continue our journey to Sainte Adele and the Hotel Le Chantecler. This fine property nestles in the wooded hillside on the edge of Lake Morin and offers a wealth of amenities.

DAY 5 SAINTE ADELE • QUEBEC CITY
We have included Le Chantecler’s hearty buffet breakfast served in the pleasant picture windowed restaurant this morning. We then ride out into the heart of the Laurentians, ascending on a mountain penetrating route past a series of lakes. We approach St. Donat de Montcalm, via noble Mt. Noire and make our lunch time stop in the village grandly located on the shores of Lake Archambault. This afternoon a descent into the foothills brings us to Rawdon, through winding country roads to Jolliette, and northwards along the St. Lawrence River to Quebec City and the Hilton Quebec or the Delta Quebec, ideally situated close to the turreted entrance of the old walled city.

DAY 6 QUEBEC CITY
This morning we enjoy a guided tour of Quebec City with its fort, gates and cannons, narrow cobbled streets and ancient greystone houses. Later you are free to further discover the old walled city and visit the many interesting shops, enjoy fine French cuisine and maybe take a walk along the promenade overlooking the St. Lawrence River. You may wish to take an optional horse-drawn carriage around the old city - a great way to become acquainted.

DAY 7 CHARLEVOIX COASTLINE
An early start through the environs to enjoy the pleasures of the zealously protected Charlevoix coastline. Its bayside views are overlooked at a number of vantage points by the winding clifftop road and the second-home villas of rich Quebecois, discreetly hidden in groves of mature trees and exotic flora. On leaving the city we pass the Chute Montmorency Falls, still impressive but somewhat spoiled by urbanisation. Descending to Baie-Saint- Paul, where the Gouffre and St. Lawrence Rivers meet, we enjoy wonderful views of the valley and the Ile aux Coudres in the middle of the St. Lawrence. A further steep descent to Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive - once a thriving ship building centre - takes us on an enchanting riverside route before ascending once again and arriving at the Auberge des 3 Canards. Here Titan have arranged for you to take coffee and enjoy the lovely view. We continue our drive to Baie- Ste-Catherine where we board our Croisieres AML ship to enjoy an included lunch and whale- watching cruise. Krill and caplin drawn by the plankton in these waters attract the whales, most likely sighted of which are the fin, minke and beluga whales. If we are lucky we may even see the odd humpback or even a blue whale, the largest mammal on earth! After the cruise we return to our hotel in Quebec.

DAY 8 QUEBEC CITY • EASTERN TOWNSHIPS
An early start today to make the most of the Beauce region, an area enriched by the Chaudiere River that flows from Lake Megantic just north of the American border into the St. Lawrence River, and to enjoy the greatest concentration of maple groves in Quebec. Shortly after crossing the St. Lawrence we stop at the Chaudiere Falls, an impressive waterfall and suspension bridge, named ‘asticou’ (boiler) by the Abenaki Indians because of the kettle-shaped basin at the foot of the cascades. The river was the scene of a gold rush in 1846 when a nugget the size of a pigeon’s egg was found. By the beginning of the 20th century over $1 million worth of gold had been extracted. Our route takes us along the tree-lined banks of the Chaudiere as we pass through the towns of Saint Marie, Valley Junction, Saint Joseph de Beauce and Beauceville. Our stopping place at lunchtime is Lake Megantic, a fisherman’s paradise and one of the most gorgeous lakeside spots even by Canadian standards. This afternoon offers further visual nourishment as we continue our country drive to the Manoir des Sables in Magog, well positioned for tomorrow’s touring of the Eastern Townships.

DAY 9 EASTERN TOWNSHIPS
One of the world’s great beauty spots, but not yet overrun by tourism, the Eastern Townships are ours to enjoy today. Tree covered hills rising to well over 3,000ft are interspersed with deep valleys and enchanting lakes. This morning we travel to North Hatley, which sits at the northern end of Lake Massawippi and was a popular second home for wealthy Americans during the 1920s. Along the lakeshore are many rustic homes and inns and its Pointe-Merry Park of pleasant riverside grassland, a pier and even a bandstand has a decided feel of old England in less hectic times. As our journey continues we visit St Benoit Abbey and pass through the pretty villages of Bolton and South Bolton until we reach Knowlton. It is here that we make our lunch stop, with the town’s fine old brick buildings having been converted to restaurants and boutiques, an old church and a millpond. After lunch we travel to Sutton, with its mountain towering over the lovely winter resort and enjoying fine views of the Brochets River Valley near Mount Pinacle. From here we continue on to Montreal and our hotel, the Delta Montreal.

DAY 10 MONTREAL • LONDON
Morning free for some sightseeing and perhaps some last minute shopping, before we transfer to Montreal Airport and our return scheduled Air Canada flight direct to London Heathrow Airport - OR EXTEND YOUR STAY
