Weymouth, Forde Abbey Gardens & Swanage

A gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site the Jurassic Coast, Weymouth offers the perfect base for exploring the beautiful county of Dorset, one of the UK's most picturesque counties.Monday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way to Weymouth with adequate comfort stops, aiming to arrive at the hotel late afternoon.

Tuesday: Today we head west to visit Swanage, a stunning coastal town at the eastern end of the Isle of Purbeck. We will also visit Lulworth Cove, home to a significant part of the Jurassic Coast, with a visitor centre, shops and cafes.

Wednesday: This morning we visit Forde Abbey & Gardens, which through the centuries, it has played host to Cistercian monks at prayer, 19th-century philosophers and politicians, by misfortune implicated in the Monmouth Rebellion and more recently, the backdrop to the Hollywood adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’.

Thursday: Today is your free day to explore Weymouth as you choose.

Friday: We bid a fond farewell to the hotel staff as we head back this morning to Hugglescote, arriving back late afternoon.The Hotel Rex
The hotel boasts an enviable position on Weymouth’s seafront, overlooking the stunning golden sands and the Jurassic coast beyond.
