Itinerary
Arbroath
On the trail of the famous 'smokie', our day begins with a coastal drive visiting the famous gold town of Carnoustie, then onwards to Arbroath, steeped in maritime history and famed for the 'smokie'. Later on, we return to Dundee where we include Afternoon Tea in a local hotel.
Distillery
Distillery & St Andrews Chippy - Not only is St Andrews famous for gold, but also for its whisky. We include a tour and tasting at Kingsbarns Distillery, offering the perfect introduction to Scotland's amber nectar. Afterwards, you can enjoy free time in beautiful St Andrews finishing with fish & chips at a local 'chippy.'
Gin Bothy Experience
Gin Bothy Experience & Highland Chocolatier - We follow the River Tay to Glamis, not only home of the castle but also to the Gin Bothy. Here you can sample the seasonal flavours and hear the story behind the quirky building. Departing here, we include a visit to the 'Chocolatier of the Highlands,' Iain Burnett, whose artisan chocolates are hailed by Michelin star chefs worldwide. His Velvet Truffles have received more than 40 awards and have twice been awarded the Best Truffle in the World! Take a seat in the lounge as the Master of Chocolate gives you a guided tasting with a flight of gourmet chocolates.

The Invercarse Hotel is situated in Dundee's West End and has stunning views of River Tay. It is only a 5-minute drive from the centre of Dundee and the cultural quarter of the city is within walking distance. Flanked by Californian Redwood Trees, the Redwood Restaurant and lounge bar are renowned for imaginative use of local produce and original menu choice. The restaurant overlooks mature gardens with views over the river and the lounge bar is relaxed and informal. All en-suite bedrooms have been recently refurbished and feature free WiFi, flatscreen TV with Freeview, iron, telephone and tea & coffee making facilities. This hotel does not have a lift, however, ground floor bedrooms may be available on request.
