Itinerary
DAY 1 Departure: A morning departure stopping for lunch and refreshments en route to our overnight hotel.
DAY 2 Travel to Newtonmore: Our journey takes us through the Scottish Borders to Perth, which retains the genuine atmosphere of a true county town. Perth is a bustling market town with much to offer including excellent shops and galleries. After lunch we continue by way of Pitlochry with time to wander around the vibrant Victorian town and then on through the Highlands to Newtonmore our home for the next 4 nights.
DAYS 3-5 At leisure with two included excursions: During your time here in Newtonmore why not take the train to Aviemore and visit the Strathspey Steam Railway which offers a 20 mile round trip along the original highland Railway.
Fort William: This excursion to Fort William takes us along the shores of Loch Laggan famed as one of the locations used for the filming of the television series Monarch of the Glen. See Ardverikie (Glenbogle) House and the beautiful church used for weddings and funerals in the series. We continue on to Fort William on the shore of Loch Linnhe and in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. This afternoon is at leisure to explore at your own pace. There are a number of excellent attractions within the town including the West Highland Museum, the Ben Nevis distillery or you could take a cruise down Loch
Linnhe to Seal island. (Fares and admissions not included).
Loch Ness & Inverness: Today we take you to Loch Ness and Inverness. We travel to Loch Ness, where there will be an opportunity of taking an optional boat cruise on the loch to look for Nessie the Monster. The rest of the day is spent at leisure in Inverness, the ancient Capital of the Highlands. The city is small and compact and so easy to explore, visit the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery (not included) or shop for gifts in the variety of shops in the city centre.
DAY 6 & LAST DAY Travel to overnight hotel & travel home: After breakfast we depart for England, with plenty to see along the way en route to our overnight hotel. Next morning after breakfast we depart for home, arriving during the evening.

Highlander Hotel, Newtonmore
Based in the centre of the Highlands of Scotland, this hotel offers friendly service and good food. The hotel consists of 2 main areas, the public area where you will find the reception, a comfortable lounge and the bar and restaurant. The second area is where you will find the 85 en suite bedrooms. All have good amenities including TV, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer. Though the hotel does not have a lift, all of the public areas and many of the bedrooms are on the ground floor with the remaining bedrooms on the 1st floor. Porterage is also included.
