Itinerary

DAYS 1-2 Departure and travel to Westport: A morning departure, stopping for lunch and refreshments en route for our overnight hotel in North Wales. After breakfast we travel to Holyhead for the ferry to Dublin and then make our way to the West of Ireland and our resort hotel in Westport.

DAYS 3-5 At leisure in Westport with three included excursions. Galway City: One of Ireland’s liveliest cities, Galway is home to a youthful population who support a thriving music scene and fantastic pubs. Take a stroll along the fastflowing River Corrib, and visit the Spanish Arch, through which boats laden with wine and brandy sailed into the medieval city.

Connemara: One of the wildest spots in Ireland, the dramatic landscape of Connemara is dominated by the Twelve Bens, which cast their scenic shadow over the Victorian town of Clifden. Gateway to the region is the village of Leenane, which sits at the head of Killary Harbour, Ireland’s only true fjord.

Knock: In 1879, a divine apparition of the Virgin Mary was witnessed at Knock’s parish church, and was later confirmed by the Vatican as a genuine miracle. Ranking alongside Lourdes, this is now one of the world’s great Catholic shrines. En-route, stop in Castlebar to visit the National Museum of Country Life (free entry).

DAY 6 & LAST DAY: After breakfast we travel back across Ireland to Dublin and the ferry to Holyhead. There is a short onward journey to our overnight hotel. After breakfast we depart for home arriving in the evening.
