Itinerary
DAY 1 Departure: A morning departure stopping for lunch and sightseeing in Windsor en route to our resort hotel.
DAYS 2-3 At leisure with one optional and two included excursions.
New Forest, Lyndhurst & Christchurch or optional* visit to Highclare Castle: Today we take a short drive to the area home to Highclere Castle, the setting for Downton Abbey, here you can choose to join an optional excursion into the castle and grounds or stay with us on the coach as we take you through the picturesque New Forest with a break in Lyndhurst "Capital" of the New Forest area since William the Conqueror established it as a Royal hunting ground in 1079. This afternoon we visit the historic town of Christchurch whose old town centre retains much of its Saxon layout. As you walk around you will find the ruins of a Norman Castle, a Saxon Watermill, the beautiful Norman Priory, believed to be the longest church in England, the harbour and museums detailing Christchurch's interesting history.
Winchester: In the morning we visit the cathedral city of Winchester where you have time to explore before we return to the hotel for our Easter Sunday lunch. Your afternoon is at leisure.
LAST DAY Travel home: We depart for home stopping for lunch and sightseeing at Hampton Court with its gardens, maze and palace.We arrive home during the evening.
