Itinerary
Day 1 Departure
A morning departure to Dover and our ferry crossing to Calais. We then continue through Northern France, crossing Belgium and into Holland to arrive during the evening at our hotel.
Day 2 At leisure
A free day at leisure for you to enjoy the many interesting aspects of the city. Alternatively, why not join us on an optional city sightseeing tour?
Optional Excursion
Half Day Guided city tour, Diamond factory tour & canal cruise
Leaving from the hotel, our coach will take you on a comprehensive guided city tour to see the many places of interest, such as the flea market, the floating flower market, the Royal Palace, the Rijks Museum and the former Jewish quarter, plus an optional guided tour of a diamond factory. Also there is the opportunity to take an optional canal cruise through the parts of this lovely city accessible only from its many canals and waterways (additional cost). There will be free time in the afternoon to visit museums, art galleries or simply shop or explore this beautiful city.

Evening Transfer to city centre In the evening there is an optional excursion providing return coach transfer into the city.
Day 3 (4 day holidays) At leisure
A further day at leisure or alternatively join us on an optional excursion.

Full Day (4 day holiday only) Volendam & Polderlands
We visit the picturesque fishing village of Volendam. Many of the inhabitants still wear the traditional local Dutch costume and you can sample superb fish dishes, or genuine Dutch apple pie with whipped cream. Then it is an unforgettable journey through the Polderlands to visit windmills, a fishing village by the former Zuider Zee, a cheese farm and watch the making of genuine Dutch clogs. Our day finishes at the Windmill Museum of Zaanse Schaans, an unrivalled collection of windmills in a reconstructed 18th Century Dutch village.
Last Day Travel home
We depart for Calais and our ferry crossing to Dover, arriving home during the evening.
Venue Information
Grand Hotel, Amstelveen
We stay for either 2 or 3 nights at the Grand Hotel Amstelveen, located close to Amsterdam. It is conveniently located for public transport to and from the city centre. The hotel facilities include bar, breakfast room and lift to all floors. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, telephone and hairdryer.
