Itinerary
Swanage & Rail
The coastal town of Swanage is pure nostalgia. You can browse the independent shops, stop for a well-deserved cuppa in one of the welcoming eateries, or perhaps walk along the Victorian pier and gaze out over Swanage Bay from Durlston Castle. During our visit we also include a return journey on the Swanage Heritage Railway, a relaxing and memorable ride through the beautiful Purbeck countryside.
Dorchester Market
Enjoy some free time at leisure in Dorchester, made famous by the novels of Thomas Hardy. The popular weekly market will be underway and you will have plenty of time to browse the many stalls offering quality items and fresh produce.
Tank Museum
Enjoy an unforgettable visit at the world's most historically significant collection of armoured vehicles. The museum houses 300 military machines, representing the key battles of every major conflict since the First World War. The awe-inspiring exhibitions tell the story of this British invention; from the mud of the Somme to the beaches of Normandy and the deserts of Iraq - featuring powerful stories from the soldiers that fought in them.
Abbotsbury
We take you to visit Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, acclaimed by Alan Titchmarsh as "one of the finest Gardens I have ever visited." The unique micro climate enables rare and exotic species from all over the world to thrive here. We then continue to Abbotsbury Swannery - the only place in the world where you are able to walk through the heart of a colony of nesting Mute Swans.
