We travel into the Yorkshire Dales to Kirkby Lonsdale, where we have time to explore and relax. This afternoon, we continue to the charming town of Settle where we board the famous Settle to Carlisle railway line. The journey will take you through the breath-taking Yorkshire Dales and over the Ribblehead Viaduct to Carlisle, the capital of Cumbria, where the coach will be waiting to return you to the hotel.

City of Carlisle
Enjoy free time to explore in the historic border city of Carlisle. The city has lots to offer, including the Castle and Cathedral, multiple museums and an excellent pedestrianised centre.

Tyne Valley Rail
We follow the path of Hadrian's Wall from The Tyne to the Solway, taking a short break at The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre, before continuing to Hexham. The town is dominated by the Abbey overlooking the market square. Here we have free time to have lunch and explore, before we return by train to Carlisle along the Tyne Valley.

Eden Valley
We journey south through the Eden Valley and make a stop in picturesque Sedbergh, a small market town in east Cumbria nestling beneath the Howgill Fells. We continue through Kirkby Stephen to the ancient town of Appleby-in-Westmoreland for our lunch break. Famous for its annual horse fair, Appleby is sits in the heart of the Eden Valley and serves as a focal point for the surrounding villages. There's heritage buildings and a good selection of traditional shops, while the riverside is perfect for a stroll or a picnic.Our Hotel
