Medieval Dunster by Candlelight

Join us as we head to The Tiverton Hotel the base for our Dunster by Candlelight tour. The annual event has the remarkably reserved Medieval village of Dunster turning its back on the present to light its streets with soft candlelight, lanterns and torches, the whole place coming alive with music and entertainment to get you in the Christmas spirit. Unique Dunster has a wonderful wide high street overlooked by the Medieval Castle where we will join the celebrations. During our stay we will have free time in Tiverton on market day. We will also visit Exeter Christmas Market with the magnificent backdrop of Exeter Cathedral followed by a visit to St Nicholas Priory to soak up the history, founded by William the Conqueror the once home to a community of Benedictine monks is Exeter’s oldest building. Depart Leyland at 09:00am for our journey to Tiverton with a suitable lunch stop en-route.

Saturday:
Following a leisurely breakfast we will take you into Tiverton on market day with time to explore allowing time for lunch. In the evening board the coach to Minehead where we will take a shuttle bus transfer to the medieval village of Dunster for the Dunster by Candlelight event and procession (please wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing as this is an outdoor event and some walking will be involved).

Sunday:
Today following a leisurely breakfast, we head to Exeter for Christmas shopping and to visit the Christmas Market followed by an afternoon visit to aptly named St Nicholas Priory in a quiet corner of the city.

Monday:
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.The Tiverton Hotel
