Weston-super-Mare is a great seaside resort with all the traditional seaside attractions, including the famous donkeys! The wide sweep of Weston Bay has miles of clean sandy beach, and a level promenade boasting superb views over the Channel, particularly from the 40-metre high Wheel of Weston. Based on the seafront in the privately run and supremely friendly Smith's Hotel, you will enjoy days out to Cardiff as well as to lovely Cheddar Gorge and the country's smallest city, Wells.
Itinerary
DAY 1 - After joining your holiday coach, travel to Weston-super-Mare pausing en route for refreshments. Continue to arrive at the hotel late afternoon with tea and coffee on arrival and plenty of time to prepare for dinner. Dinner, bed & breakfast.
Carnival - 4 day holidays only
Friday night sees plenty of action in Weston-super-Mare as the popular carnival arrives in town. Illuminated floats, marching bands, fancy dress walkers and entertainers will wend their way through the town this evening from about 7.15pm.
Days 2-4 (5 day holidays) / Days 2-3 (4 day holidays) - At leisure in Weston-super-Mare with two included excursions.
All weather attractions include the Grand Pier SeaQuarium, the North Somerset Museum and the world's largest dedicated Helicopter Museum. There is a wide variety of entertainment on at the Playhouse Theatre and the Winter Gardens to suit all ages.

Journey through the Mendip Hills to the famous Cheddar Gorge. Explore Britain's biggest gorge from the dramatic cliffs rising 450ft to the stunning stalactite caverns. Discover the breath-taking splendour of Britain's most beautiful stalactite cavern where Cheddar Man, Britain's oldest skeleton, was found. Travel on to the tiny city of Wells with its magnificent cathedral.
Cardiff
Enjoy a day out in Europe's youngest capital city. Since 1955, Cardiff has fully embraced the role as Wales' capital and has emerged as a thriving urban centre, full of history, charm and 21st century attitude. Innovative architecture and the ultra-modern eater front sits happily alongside ancient monuments, not least the castle, a Victorian Gothic fantasy built on the original Normal and Roman remains (guided castle tour included). The city is extremely compact and visitors can expected ancient history, quality shopping and a great ambience.
Last Day - After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Marlborough with ample time for sightseeing and refreshments. Later continue homewards to arrive early to mid-evening

Situated in a prime sea-front location with magnificent views across Weston Bay and beyond, Smiths Hotel offers a warm welcome, friendly service and comfortable accommodation. There is a residents' lounge, restaurant, bar and outdoor terrace some entertainment most nights. All 50 bedrooms have been recently refurbished and offer private facilities (mostly with walk-in shower), TV and tea/coffee making. There is a small lift.
