Itinerary

DAY 1 Departure: A morning departure, stopping for lunch and refreshments in Newark en route to our hotel. Enjoy a welcome sherry reception this evening in the hotel.

DAY 2 New Years Eve - Haworth: After breakfast we travel to Haworth. The world of Wuthering Heights is brought alive in the famous village of Haworth, which is surrounded by rugged and brooding Pennine moorland. Haworth Parsonage, now the Brontë Parsonage Museum (entrance not included), was home to the literary sisters from 1820 to 1861. Today the museum is one of many attractions in a village that has quaint cobbled streets, intriguing shops and plenty of high quality tea-rooms and restaurants, we return to our hotel in good time to begin our evening festivities.

DAY 3 New Years Day - Harrogate: After a leisurely breakfast this morning.We have free time in Harrogate to explore the town’s magnificent Victorian buildings, colourful banks of flowers, broad tree-lined boulevards and wide open spaces. Reminders of the regal era are the 19th Century Royal Pump Room Museum, housing the original sulphur well and the Royal Baths Assembly Rooms, built in 1897, where the turkish baths are still in daily use.

LAST DAY Travel home: After breakfast we depart for our journey home. We stop en route at Stamford, once used as the village of Meryton in the filming of Pride & Prejudice.
