Description
Weston-super-Mare is Somerset's best known holiday resort. It is situated in a sheltered bay at the foot of the Mendip Hills with views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales. There are many charming Victorian and Edwardian terraces interspersed with colourful parks and gardens providing fascinating walks from the delightful rocky point and woods at Anchor Head to the sandy beaches at the southern end of the resort. Weston offers a great many attractions including the Sea Life centre, a delightful miniature railway and a helicopter museum. The sheltered bay is ideal for water sports and there is a choice of several boat trips. Excellent dry sports facilities include ten pin bowling, golf and bowls. At night there are numerous attractions including top class cabaret at the Playhouse and dancing at the famous Winter Gardens.

Monday
Sherry reception on arrival followed by dinner and dancing.
Tuesday (Christmas Eve)
Full Day Shopping Excursion. Gala dinner followed by dancing and entertainment.
Wednesday (Christmas Day)
Morning competition to guess the weight of the Christmas cake. Traditional Christmas lunch with "Santa" and presents. Afternoon tea and games. Dinner followed by dancing and entertainment.
Thursday (Boxing Day)
Morning excursion. Pre-lunch glass of punch followed by Grand Boxing Day Lunch. Free afternoon followed by dinner and fancy dress farewell dance (please bring a costume).
Friday
Depart hotel after breakfast.

Anchor Head Hotel
Splendidly situated between Weston's two piers and close to the boating slipway and a small beach; the promenade walk starts right next to the hotel. All 52 bedrooms have central heating, private bath or shower and WC, hair dryer, TV with radio channels and tea/coffee making facilities. TV lounge and congenial lounge bar with dance floor where entertainment is provided most evenings. There are magnificent views of the bay from the attractive TV lounge, the twin restaurants and many of the bedrooms. Small lift serves all floors (few stairs from lift to restaurant).
